Welcome To CAIO 2026-27

Competition Overview

CAIO 2026-27 is a two-stage competition consisting of the National Qualifier and the National Training Camp.
• The CAIO National Qualifier will be held on November 8, 2026.
• Selected students will be invited to the CAIO National Training Camp in January 2027.

For the CAIO National Qualifier, each stage includes two 90-minute parts:
• Part 1: AI Fundamentals Challenge
• Part 2: Applied Problem Solving

The CAIO National Training Camp is an invite-only program for high-performing students from the CAIO National Qualifier. Around the top 10% of contestants from the National Qualifier will be invited to join the camp in January 2027, which includes three days of intensive training with university professors in AI and experts from leading technology companies. The camp will be followed by a two-day Canadian National Team Selection Competition, where the top four contestants will be selected to represent Canada at IAIO 2027 in Vietnam. The competition format will be similar to the official IAIO structure, with more challenging problems designed to push participants further. Each round will last five hours.
